Expected Snow

The current weather forecast is calling for our area to potentially receive more significant snow Thursday/Friday. We would like to remind everybody that the extra snow removal with the back-hoe during the last snow storm was a special circumstance: specifically, two major snow storms within days of each other. We will not be contracting for that additional back-hoe service going forward.

A few other items we wanted to remind everyone of:

1. Residents are required (per the rules/regulations) to clear a path on all sidewalks within the unit boundaries. Additionally, snow is not to be shoveled onto the roadways thus causing a driving hazard. Snow removal should be completed within 24 hours after the end of each snowfall.
2. The Association has a contract for snow removal on Red Oak, Elm Court and the North Gorski Annex only. Please be aware that snow removal is not "curb-to-curb" and large piles of snow left by residents are not included in our contract.
3. Dogwood Lane and North Gorski (proper) are plowed and maintained by Skippack Township. We encourage residents to contact the Township at 610-454-0909 with any concerns.

Thank you all for making Fairlawn Court a wonderful community. With your cooperation and understanding you truly make this a great place to live!

Snow Removal - UPDATE 3

The Front Loader has been repaired and they are back out in the Development finishing up. Yea!

UPDATE: In order to help expedite the process, they have asked that when their crew arrives at your street, if you could move your car out of your driveway and onto another street in the development it would appreciated. This will allow them to work much faster and hence lessen our costs, as we are paying by the hour. Thank you all for your help and patience during this process.

Just a reminder, the extra snow removal we contracted for was for the previous snow falls only. We did this due to having back to back storms with excessive snow accumulation. They are calling for snow again on Monday, however, we will not be contracting for any additional snow removal. The will plow the common areas, however, they will not be moving any snow around.

Snow Removal - UPDATE 2

Due to mechanical difficulties with the front loader, our contractor was unable to finish the clean up Friday as expected. They are doing everything they can to get the equipment repaired and be back out here ASAP to finish the clean up. We will continue to update you as we hear more.

Please keep in mind, Montgomery County declared a State of Disaster. This should emphasize the extent of issues felt all around us concerning the snow. Those of us on the Board are doing everything we can to resolve the situation as quickly as possible and we appreciate your continued patience.

With concern to Dogwood, we have extended our agreement with our Plow Contractor to assist the members with some clean up. Given the sheer volume of snow, we felt this was prudent. However, the road iteself can only be plowed by the Township. The Board has made phone calls to the Township concerning this issue, but we are also asking for all the members asssitance with this matter. If you have a moment, we would appreciate your help in giving a quick call to the Township asking them to return and complete the plowing on Dogwood. The number to call is 610-454-0909. Thank you so much for your help with this, perhaps with multiple phone calls, we can exert some presure to have the actual road cleared.

Snow Removal - UPDATE

While our Plowing contractor was back out today to continue moving the snow, unfortunately, the back hoe experienced some mechanical issues and needs to be repaired. They are hoping to get it repaired and be back over here tonight to finish.

If we hear anything else, we will continue to keep you updated.

Large Snow Piles

We received an email from our Plowing contractor regarding children climbing and digging in the large snow piles. Per his email, he wanted to stress the importance of children avoiding the large snow piles around the community and to refrain from climbing and digging in them. Should the temperature go above freezing, any holes that have been dug can cause the piles to become unstable and collapse.

Blizzard of 2010

As many of you know, we have A LOT of snow in the Community. Our plow company has been out here numerous times over the last couple days to keep up with the snow removal from the common areas. You may have noticed the Front Loader out today doing all they can to get the larger piles of snow out of the way. They plan to be back out tomorrow (Friday) to continue their efforts.

Trash Collection - SPECIAL UPDATE

Due to the Snowstorm, trash pickup was not completed on Wednesday February 10. Trash pick up has been rescheduled for Saturday February 13, 2010.
